Formscan By Gary Carson - SPANISH MAID was well-backed on her first outing for Ross O’Sullivan and ran well to chase home Connemara Shore. She just ran around a touch late on having held every chance over the last and dropping back to the minimum trip now may help. Courtbrack Boy has been in good form over timber and goes straight into handicap company on his chase debut. He ran a solid race over timber at Clonmel last off this mark and has to be respected. Similarly La Tene makes her chase debut in a handicap as well and is another to consider for in-form trainer John Ryan.

I have been one of the lads’ biggest fans over the years with what they’ve done with all those good horses and, even yesterday, they had a horse (Glen Kiln) finish second in a Grade 1. I have been friends with them and been curious about how they’d done things all my life, so was delighted when Michael asked me to take this horse a couple of months ago. I’m very lucky to have him and not too many have one out of Solerina. Between their three really good horses Limestone Lad, Solerina and Sweet Kiln, they earned €1.8m in prize money which is incredible even at today's levels.

She’s a cracking filly who was bred by one of my owners Tommy James and while I previously leased her to a group of lads who then got tired of her, I wouldn't blame them,. I had to take her back myself and I'm delighted she has won as she is from a great family and her half-brother Piccolo Player won in Limerick recently for me, and he is a very good horse. . It is a proper family although I'm not a fan of Sageburg (her sire). She is a cracking little mare so will make a broodmare for somebody. She is difficult to train and to mind but we have great patience, that's one thing I have with horses and I give them every chance. If this mare had been in another yard, she'd have been scrapped long ago. She will be way better over fences.

This is a lovely horse, he's a half-brother to Fairyhill Run,. My cousin Tom Meagher bred him and the mother died when he was only three weeks old. Then his foster mother had bits of problems, it's only now he's growing into a horse. He's a useful horse. He'll go to Listowel now for the winners of one novice. He wants further, he's out of a Flemensfirth mare. Fairyhill Run is a brilliant mare, she won a lot for us. She got an injury but it looks like she'll come back. I'd say he's way better than her, he's exciting. He's not very big yet but he's a nice one and he won that race with a bit in hand.
