Donagh Murphy, the rider of Roman Emperor (GB), drawn 6, was slow to remove the blindfold.
Murphy’s explanation that Roman Emperor (GB) had its head to one side in the stalls and in straightening the gelding’s head he had been slightly slow in removing the blindfold, was noted.
Leaving the stalls, My Boy Harry (GB), placed second, jumped left-handed at the same time as Global Warning (GB), placed fourth, jumped right-handed, resulting in the winner, Poke The Bear (IRE) and Roman Emperor (GB), unplaced, becoming short for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of My Boy Harry (GB) or Global Warning (GB).
