Permission was given for Happy Chandler (GB) to wear a red hood and go early to post.
Permission was also given for WILLOW’S KISS to wear a red hood to post.
Leaving the stalls, Brave Display (IRE), unplaced, jumped right-handed bumping WILLOW’S KISS, unplaced, which in turn crowded the winner, Anticipating (GB), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, Anticipating (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 20 April 2025, where the mare finished seventh of eleven runners, beaten 12 ¾ lengths.
Alexandra Dunn’s explanation that the mare was suited by the drop in trip from 1 mile 3 furlongs to 1 mile on this occasion, was noted.
Anticipating (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Sam Hitchcott reported that Too Much Trevor (GB), unplaced, was slowly away; Jordan Williams reported that King Of The Dance (IRE), placed third, was denied a clear run inside 2 furlongs out; Gina Mangan reported that Glen Esk (GB), unplaced, never travelled and Zoe Lewis reported that Brave Display (IRE), unplaced, never travelled and the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding had lost both front shoes.
