THE MIDNITE, BUILDING THE FUTURE OF BETTING HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) (Rider Restricted Race) Permission was given for Captain Kinsella (GB) to go early to post; Second Collection (GB) to go early and wear a red hood to post and for Symbol of Hope (GB) to go early to post and be mounted in the chute.
Approximately one and a half furlongs out, the winner, Second Collection (GB) switched left-handed into a tight gap and briefly made contact with the hind quarters of Forever Noah (GB) (IRE), placed second, and unbalancing that runner.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Second Collection (GB) (IRE).
Following the race, Ryan Kavanagh reported that Some Nightmare (IRE), placed third, hung left- handed; Mikkel Mortensen reported that Poet (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed; Gina Mangan reported that Symbol of Hope (GB), placed fourth, was denied a clear run for some distance approaching and passing the one-furlong marker and Matthew Lloyd Slater reported that Snow Boots (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed off the bend.
