that’s two derbies in two days, but it's only I don't have a runner in the one tomorrow!. Fixation is a grand little horse and has really improved. I thought he was a little bit unlucky last time in a better race and Shane (Reville, part owner) rang me a couple of weeks ago and said 'I think we should go for the Ladies Derby'. Shane is a good friend, this is his first horse with me and when I was riding, he helped me with the form. He is pretty sharp, so fair dues to him. Himself and the lads bought this horse, sent him to me and it's great to have a winner for them here on Irish Derby weekend. The horses are running really well. They are hitting the board and that's all you can do. You come, you think they are going to run well and as long as they can perform to the best of their ability, that's our job. The Raceday Stewards informed Diego Dias, trainer of, Seanna's Girl, through his Authorised Representative, that a repeat performance of his charge who was unruly on the way to post and was subsequently withdrawn may render the animal liable to a suspension in the future

Ms K.M. Ryan, rider of Touch The Moon, trained by William Durkan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount received a bump on leaving the stalls. Having reviewed the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

An extended handicap for four years old and upwards (90 = 10st 10lbs)
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
Riders - Lady Riders only - 1. who hold a Licence or Apprentice Licence under Rules of Racing. 2. who hold a Licence or Apprentice Licence under Rules of Racing issued by any Recognised Turf Authority. 3. who are Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. 4. who hold a Permit to ride in Flat Races issued by any other Recognised Turf Authority. Allowances - (which are not cumulative, up to and including 23rd June) Riders who have not ridden the winners of 30 *races allowed..........7lb; Those who have not ridden the winners of 60 *races allowed..........5lb; Those who have not ridden the winners of 90 *races allowed..........3lb. No allowance to riders under Rule 52 or 69 may be claimed. *Including races under any National Hunt Rules or Rules of Racing. Top weight after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st 10lbs and the minimum weight is 8st 10lbs.
