Permission was given for Jungle Drums (IRE) and Seven Questions (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood, for Korker (IRE) and Vadream (GB) to go early to post and to be mounted on the chute, for Apollo One (GB) to be mounted on the chute and for Purosangue (GB), Completely Random (GB), Orazio (IRE) and Germanic (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 ½ furlongs out involving Run Boy Run (GB), placed fourth, ridden by George Wood, Apollo One (GB), unplaced, ridden by Alice Bond, Annaf (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Daniel Muscutt and Get It (GB), unplaced, ridden by Pat Cosgrave.
Being a 7lb Claimer, Bond was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Wood was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he failed to allow sufficient room for horses on his left-hand side causing Apollo One (GB) to be taken off its intended line and checked which in turn caused Annaf (IRE) to be taken off its intended line and checked, resulting in Get It (GB) having to be eased on the rail.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong involving Completely Random (GB), unplaced, ridden by Trevor Whelan, Commanche Falls (GB), unplaced, ridden by Connor Beasley, THE X O (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Robert Havlin and Elmonjed (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jim Crowley.
William Buick, the rider of Purosangue (GB), unplaced, was also interviewed but was found not to be involved.
Whelan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he moved Completely Random (GB) left-handed when insufficiently clear, taking Commanche Falls (GB) and THE X O (IRE) off their intended lines causing Crowley to take a precautionary check aboard Elmonjed (IRE).
The performance of Get It (GB), which finished unplaced, was considered.
George Baker’s explanation that Get It (GB) was unsuited by the Going, officially described as Good to Soft, Good in places, and would prefer a quicker surface, was noted.
Get It (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Alice Bond reported that Apollo One (GB), unplaced, suffered interference approximately 1 ½ furlongs out; Daniel Muscutt reported that Annaf (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run approaching the final furlong; Kieran Shoemark reported that Vadream (GB), unplaced, was slowly away and Jack Nicholls reported that Korker (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away.
