Ado McGuinness rounded off a successful 2025 when crowned the champion trainer at Dundalk last Friday and is already looking forward to next year.

The Lusk trainer sent out 22 winners on the Polytrack and signed off the campaign with a double as Nikki Swango and Jawhary completed an 83/1 brace.

Indeed, Nikki Swango has been something of a revelation in recent months, winning four of her last five starts, prompting McGuinness to comment, “If Nikki Swango keeps going, God only knows!”

Another that McGuinness, who saddled a total of 37 winners in Ireland this year, gave particular mention to is Tribal Star.

The Sea The Stars gelding was purchased out of Charlie Appleby’s yard last year for 42,000 guineas and won twice at Dundalk including the valuable Irish Stallion Farms EBF Red God Handicap in August.

“I do think Tribal Star will be a real good stayer next year, though, so I'm looking forward to him in premier handicaps.

“I have a lot of young stock next year. We have a few nice new ones.”
