Charles Byrnes will make a comment “in a couple of weeks” regarding plans for his team of horses, with the latest addition having been christened 'No Deterrent' in recent days.

Byrnes' six-months suspension resulting from the Viking Hoard nobbling saga and subsequent failed appeal, begins on March 4 and will last until September 4.

Regarding plans, Byrnes would not be drawn on the possibility of moving his horses elsewhere to the care of other trainers and stated “I've no comment to make for another couple of weeks.”

Mister Butler and Doctor Duffy represent the trainer this weekend, and while Doctor Duffy is entered in a Pertemps (Cheltenham) Qualifier at Punchestown on Monday, Byrnes has made no Cheltenham Festival entries next month.

This week's IHRB calendar notices also includes the eye-catching naming of a four year old gelding son of Caliphet, out of mare Valerie Ellen, which has been named 'No Deterrent' and registered to the trainer's Byrnes Bloodstock Limited.

Solwhit's trainer Byrnes, the winner of three Cheltenham Festival races, had previously mischievously named a horse 'It’snotcominghome' the day after England were knocked out of the 2018 World Cup.

It’snotcominghome himself flopped in two runs for Viking Hoard's Tramore owners, the Byrnsey Boys Syndicate.
