The first Frankel juvenile to run in Ireland will be Lightening Fast in the Darley European Breeders' Fund Maiden at the Curragh on Saturday.

Given all the offspring of Frankel that have raced to date have won, trainer Ger Lyons could be forgiven for feeling a little bit of pressure with his colt being the first to make the track in Ireland.

Lyons, though, has treated him no differently to any of the other juveniles in his yard, many of whom are way above average.

As well as having a famous father, Lightening Fast's dam Lightening Pearl provided Lyons with his first Group One winner in the Cheveley Park Stakes in 2011.

"He'll come with a lot of hype, like all of the Frankels, but we've done nothing different and he'll run like most of mine do first time out," Lyons At The Races.

"He's the spit of his mother Lightning Pearl. If he's half as good as his mum or dad we'll be happy."

One of Aidan O'Brien's two runners, Lancaster Bomber, is by War Front and a half-brother to Excelebration, while another, Taj Mahal, is ridden by Ryan Moore and is a full-brother to last year's dual Guineas winner Gleneagles.

Later on the card, O'Brien unleashes De Coronado, a brother to the outstanding racemare Zenyatta.
