2 from 2 for team Mullins at Kilbeggan Willie Mullins doubled up in the second event, the racing@kilbegganraces.com Novice Hurdle, as odds-on favourite Toad Hall (30/100) just about got home in the hands of Paul Townend. Anna McGuinness won race one at Kilbeggan for Closutton aboard J P McManus' I Am River. Townend meanwhile also sported familiar silks, those of Malcolm Denmark. They too got a successful airing at Tramore last evening courtesy of another Mullins runner, Sunset Boulevard. Inexperienced but clearly useful mare, Gordon Elliott's Cooke's Lass, just wouldn't go away. Having the inside berth in the straight at least partly enabled Toad Hall to keep her at bay by a neck. “He jumps and he gallops and is a big unit for around here, but it was a nice opportunity," said Townend. “If something wanted to go on I was happy to take a lead, but he was happy enough. He pulled out enough (after the last) and will jump a fence in time.” (AM & EM)
