2 very short ones beaten 1 after another

Barry Geraghty and Nicky Henderson have been knocking in the winners left right and centre this season but they had the unwanted double of two long-odds on beaten favourites one after another at Huntingdon today.

Ericht went off at 5s on for the EBF Equimark Horseboxes "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle but he failed by a length and a quarter to Cousin Khee who sports the Raymond Tooth silks of Champion Hurdler Punjabi.

Half-an-hour later Problema Tic was 1/4 to win the four runner Equimark Horseboxes Premier Novices’ Chase but that Sir Robert Ogden-owned six-year-old was a head inferior to the Aidan Coleman ridden Pentiffic at the line.

The former Liam Burke-trained Kauto Relko, a half-brother to Kauto Star, wasn't fully up to scratch in the jumping department and he finished a half a length back in third.

Geraghty ended his day on the right note by winning the bumper on Henderson's Brigadier Miller in the famous Ponsonby colours. (EM)
