3 races for the Commander

Nigel Twiston-Davies says Gold Cup hero Imperial Commander will run three times this season.

The Gloucestershire-based trainer has mapped out the 2010-11 campaign for his Cheltenham winner as his stable star nears a return to action at Haydock on November 20.

"He is in great form and we know exactly where he is going. He will have just three races this year - start off in the Betfair Chase at Haydock, then the King George at Kempton and finally the Gold Cup at Cheltenham," Twiston-Davies told Sky Sports News

Twiston-Davies believes that there is more to come from Imperial Commander with all roads ultimately leading to a repeat bid for the Gold Cup at the Festival next March.

"I hope that he can be even better this year. He has not had a lot of racing and there are few miles on the clock. Hopefully he will just keep going."
