334/1 treble for Denis Hogan & a double for Joey with Palmezzano Denis Hogan completed a 334/1 treble on the evening at Dundalk when Palmezzano got off the mark in the Happy Valentine's Weekend Maiden. The veteran Ballyadam made a bold bid from the front in this 1m4f event, but was reeled in by the 11/1 winner just inside the final furlong. Joey Sheridan, who was recording a double on the card, kept the Saxon Warrior gelding up to his work to hold off the well backed 11/8 favourite Ebong King by half a length. Ballyadam finished a further length and a half away in third. Sheridan said, “Delighted for Denis, he's a very hard worker and he has his horses in some order now for a long time. He keeps them very consistent. "First ever time riding him in a race and I couldn't wait to get on him, to be honest, because he has missed the break and things haven't worked out in races for a couple of the other lads, but I wanted to keep it simple and be forward. "I was able to get a smooth run through and get on the tail of Ballyadam down past the furlong pole. I knew he would stay going anyway. "He travelled around grand, just was able to get in from '8' and get a bit of cover and kept it smooth. Our lad is good and honest, and the blinkers worked." He added, “I've ridden Joseph's 1,500th winner and the third leg of Denis' treble.” Hogan was also on the mark earlier with Sporting Hero and The Liffey. Quotes by Michael Graham
