4,000-UP FOR DESORMEAUX American jockey Kent Desormeaux rode the 4,000th winner of his career when scoring on Temporary Appeal at Santa Anita in California last night. If he keeps up his current strike-rate Desormeaux could be on course to enter the record books as he is only 30 - two years younger than the world's winning-most jockey Laffit Pincay was when he reached 4,000.The rider scored his first career victory in 1986 and has enjoyed his biggest successes on Kentucky Derby winners Real Quiet (1998) and Fusaichi Pegasus (2000).
