Dylan Browne McMonagle continued his excellent recent run of form when getting up close home on the Andy Oliver trained Cash Me to win the Sheehy Motors Volkswagen Maiden at the Cork.

Unplaced on both previous runs, the daughter of Prince Of Lir was sent off a somewhat unconsidered 50/1 outsider.

Held up towards rear in the early stages, McMonagle moved closer into mid division at the halfway stage.

Travelling strongly when short of room over a furlong out, Cash Me quickened up well once in the clear inside the final furlong.

Getting to leader Glory To Be in the dying strides, the pair flashed by the line in unison. The subsequent photo revealed that Cash Me had prevailed by a short head.

Andy Oliver said: “She had been showing us that sort of ability at home.

“My horses weren’t quite right around the time of her last run. We just had to take a pull for a week and she’s our first runner since so that inspires some confidence.

“She’s a nice mover, very genuine and Dylan gave her a lovely ride. He got a nice tow into the race and luckily enough got the break.”
