7-up at the Galway Festival for Oodachee Oodachee, that great old warrior of the Charlie Swan yard, is set for another appearance at the Galway Festival next week, which would be his seventh year competing at the Ballybrit mecca. The eleven-year-old ran at Dundalk last Monday and finished last of the nine in a two mile one furlong handicap. Swan remarked of that effort: "He seems fine, I think they just cut his throat a little bit on him. They went a bit quick on him." The Marju gelding has completed in the last three runnings of the Galway Plate (2nd to Oslot in 2008) but Swan has another plan this time. He said: "Hopefully we can get him back, he is okay at home anyway. He is in the conditions chase on the Tuesday night, early in the week. He could run later in the week too if he was alright." Asked if he had any others earmarked for next week Swan said: "We have a few. Tribes And Banner, a couple for the chases, Valain and Adajal might run. Cloone Rocket will run somewhere. He is in the Galway Hurdle but we'll see. He is also in the G.P.T (the carlton.ie/galwaycity (Q.R.) Handicap). Zaralabad is also in the G.P.T (the carlton.ie/galwaycity (Q.R.) Handicap). I could have fourteen or fifteen runners. Hot Oscar for a beginners chase is another."
