Abbaye attracts big field A big field looks set to go to post in Sunday's Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp as 21 possibles still remain after the latest forfeit stage. A sizeable team of British and Irish sprinters will attempt to maintain the fantastic record of overseas raiders in the Group One five-furlong contest. Only one of the last nine winners, Marchand D'Or in 2008, has been trained in France and the veteran sprinter will once again be in the line-up having looked rejuvenated for current handler Mikel Delzangles. The likes of King's Stand winner Prohibit, Nunthorpe hero Margot Did and Flying Childers scorer Requinto will all give the home team plenty to think about. Throw in Sole Power, Tangerine Trees, Masamah and Captain Dunne and another victory from outside of France would be no surprise. Freddie Head has left in the classy Moonlight Cloud but she is thought more likely to head for Ascot. Definightly, Medicean Man, Iver Bridge Lad and Beyond Desire are also among the remaining entries.
