The merits of following a horse, particularly a mare, with decent current form, is well established, and it doesn't come much more current that a win two days previous. Thursday's Clonmel scorer, Abby Cadabby (up a furlong and a half in trip), followed up in style in the Black Point Handicap at Wexford under Connor King. Hallo Rosie (first time cheek-pieces) and Ocean Scene (with blinkers freshly applied) set a decent pace here and Abby Cadabby always moved well just behind the speed.

There was never likely to be any other result from two furlongs out as Abby Cadabby soon assumed command, going away to triumph by an unflattering four lengths from Dixie Highway

The Lyons family, on the mark earlier on the programme when Ger trained the winner of the second in Roheryn had further joy here as his wife Lynne owns Abby Cadabby.

Andy Oliver trains the successful daughter of Jeremy but it was left to King to brief the press afterwards and he said: "She travelled well just behind the leaders. Andrew told me to be handy.

"It was a true test and she kept galloping all the way to the line. She was impressive."

Our Conor's sire, Jeremy stands at nearby Garryrichard Stud and this result represented a good advertisement for the Danehill Dancer horse as he was responsible for the first two home. (DM & EM)
