Agent Boru registered his first win in two and a half years at Galway today as the Tom Gibney trained, Darragh O'Keeffe partnered nine year old landed the W.B. Gavin & Co. Handicap Hurdle.

The point-to-point winning son of Brian Boru's only previous racecourse win was in a Grade B Hurdle at the Fairyhouse Easter festival in 2018 and today ended a 15-race losing spell when beating Bothar Dubh by nine lengths.

Irish Grand National winner Gibney later commented “he is a tricky customer and does his own thing. It was going to happen one day we just didn't know when and he'd go on any ground.

“We'll look for something similar and he'll go back over fences too.”
