Aigles set Ascot targets Corine Barande-Barbe is considering three potential trips to Ascot for Cirrus Des Aigles this year following his victory in Saturday's Dubai Sheema Classic. The six-year-old claimed his first Group One haul over a mile and a half in the biggest race of the Dubai World Cup undercard at Meydan, tenaciously resisting the late challenge of Aidan O'Brien's St Nicholas Abbey. While his next start could be in his native France, Cirrus Des Aigles is set to head back to Britain on multiple occasions this year. The Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot and the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes in July are possible mid-summer targets, while he could also return to defend his Champion Stakes crown in October. "I am very well this morning, how could I not be after last night?" said Barande-Barbe. "The horse is very well this morning as well. I went to see him and it is like he only had a walk yesterday. He's really fantastic. "He's showed what a genuine horse he is last night. When a horse is in front he wants to catch him and when another comes beside him, it pushes him on. "I think he really believes his job is to win and he has no doubt in his mind he is going to do it. "We had no doubt he would stay the distance as he won the Grand Prix de Deauville over half a furlong further than yesterday by 10 lengths. "The jockeys, Christophe (Soumillon) and Olivier (Peslier) agree that this horse could win a Group One over a mile and a Group One over two miles. "There are many options for him now. The Prince Of Wales's Stakes and the King George are possibilities, and he could go back for the Champion Stakes too. "I won't make any decisions now as I want to appreciate his win and see him when he is back home. Things will work themselves out. "His next race could maybe be the Prix Ganay at Longchamp (April 29). There are not that many Group One options for him in France (as he is gelded)."
