Alder ready to contest Dee Stakes Donnacha O'Brien is set to send the promising Alder to the Listed Dee Stakes at Chester on Thursday. The Australia colt has won two of his four races including when stepped up to an extended mile and a quarter on seasonal reappearance in Cork last month. He signed off the last campaign with a notable third behind Auguste Rodin in the Group 2 KPMG Champions Juvenile Stakes at Leopardstown. O’Brien “The plan is to go to the Dee Stakes in Chester. “We always thought he was a smart horse but he still has a little bit to learn, so that’s why we are going to Chester to see if he could cope with a step up to something like Epsom, so we’ll see.” Alder Is currently available at 28/1 for the Epsom Derby.
