Alexandrova The Great Hope For The Oaks Hills have been hit by a massive gamble on Vodafone Oaks favourite Alexandrova that has seen Aidan O´Brien´s filly nearly halved in price in the space of 15 minutes. Reports that the filly worked well this morning has bolstered public confidence and she now heads the Oaks book at 4-1. Doubts about the Ballydoyle string were dispelled last weekend with George Washington´s terrific 2000 Guineas victory and with Chenchikova holding a ´doubtful´ tag, Alexandrova is definitely the yards leading Oaks contender and, despite the fact that she hasn´t raced yet this year, punters are piling in accordingly. Hills spokeswoman Jennie Prest said, 'Alexandrova is now by far the worst result in our Oaks book and the punters were taking what ever price we cut her to this morning. We are still almost a month away from the Oaks, but after George Washington´s magnificent win punters are obviously taking any positive news from Ballydoyle very seriously.'
