Zolpharine (11/2) made the breakthrough over fences in Division 1 of the extended 2m6f handicap chase at Limerick.

He travelled best of the front four who were clear on the approach to two out where he improved from third into second almost upsides Jukebox Johnny

Zolpharine was clearly going better than that rival and led over the last for Daniel King before powering seven-and-a-half-lengths clear of Jukebox Jonny (5/2f). Another Ocana came in a remote third at 15/2, some 21 lengths adrift of the runner-up.

John Ryan said: "He is Fairyhill Run's (five-time-winning stablemate) half-brother and is a cracking little horse, but it has taken him a while to win for a second time.

"He had four 'seconds' last year, so hopefully he might go forward and win a few now. He will keep going through the summer."

Zolpharine doubled his career total having scored over flights at Kilbeggan back in September 2023.
