Allegretto Snaps Up Haydock Prize Allegretto gave Cheveley Park Stud another high-profile success with an impressive victory under title-chasing rider Ryan Moore in the bet365 Lancashire Oaks at Haydock Park. The Galileo filly, trained by Sir Michael Stoute and sent off a 13-2 chance, briefly hit a flat spot in the Group Two contest as the pace quickened entering the straight. But she soon found her stride and stayed on far too strongly for her seven rivals.Clive Brittain's Local Spirit belied her odds of 66-1 but had no answers to the winner's superior finishing kick, eventually going down by three lengths, with 6-4 favourite Princess Nada a further three lengths back in third.John Marsh, representing the winning owners, said: 'I don't know what her next target will be but I know she is in the Yorkshire Oaks.'Sir Michael has some other nice fillies this year but keeping them apart is a nice problem to have, so we'll have to wait and see.'She's a nice filly and Ryan gave her a peach of a ride just off the pace ? we knew she would stay so the faster pace suited her.'I think the mile and a half is a bare minimum for her really, but she won a Group Two by three lengths so we can't complain too much!'Moore added: 'She stayed on very well and I think she would get a bit further yet.'Patrick Chelef, representing Brittain, said: 'We are very very pleased with that run but she is still a bit weak.'She is a full-sister to Crimplene, who was a great miler, but this filly stayed the mile and a half.'I don't know what the plan would be next, I'd have to speak to Clive.'(C) PA Sport
