Amateur jockey Dary Cullen dies following point to point fall

Irish racing was hit by tragic news last Sunday when 20 year old Dary Cullen died following a fall at Wexford point to point.

Cullen, one of six children of former jockey Jimmy Cullen, received a fall from My Hoby in the first divsion of the mares maiden and was pronounced dead on arrival to Wexford General Hospital.

Cullen had partnered his first winner on Clonroche Queen at the Horse & Jockey point to point on March 12 and had been based with trainer Paul Nolan who mentioned 'he was a brilliant chap; you could not get better. He busted his gut trying to get on and get going as a jockey, and was with us for four years. We are all devastated.'
