Amo Racing and trainer Adrian Murray combined for Dundalk doubles today as Umala (2/1f) landed the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Fillies Maiden, under champion jockey Colin Keane.

The once-raced daughter of Saxon Warrior, a €120,000 Goffs Orby yearling purchase, made all the running and held on well to beat Lady McC by a half-length.

Amo Racing’s representative Ryan McElligott reported “she was quite green and raw when she ran here over a mile back in February. She was getting the hang of it and we definitely felt the longer trip would play to her strengths.

"She'll have no problem going 1m4f and she loved that surface, so you'd think a nice sound surface at the height of the summer would be no problem to her.”

He added "I suppose when you get a filly like her, you have to be thinking of stakes races next and there's the Listed Yeats Stakes in Navan next month over 1m5f, which is an option. There's a median auction winners' race in Roscommon as well in mid-May which could also work.

"She will keep progressing and will be even better again next year."

Amo Racing and Murray had earlier won with the Billy Lee-partnered newcomer Pedro Nunes
