Given a mark of 76 for her first handicap, 8/1 chance Angelic Appeal did the business for Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley in the La Celia Wines Handicap.

Dropping back in trip after some creditable maiden runs over 1m4f, the Siyouni filly was never too far from the pace and mastered Mr King inside the final furlong to win by three-parts of a length. Take Heart stayed on to grab second place close home from Mr King.

“She's been threatening to do that. She's been consistent this year without winning,” said Harrington.

“We thought a lot of her last year. Early on last year we thought she was one of our best fillies but the next thing she grew and grew.

“It's great and she did that nicely. She has a lovely pedigree so hopefully we can win another handicap with her and then see where we go. It would be nice if she keeps progressing.”
