Another winner for team Magnier!

John and Sue Magnier missed seeing their superstar So You Think’s win in an epic Coral Eclipse at Sandown today, favouring a trip to Ballingarry (Limerick) Horse & Pony Races where their grandson Max Wachman added to connection’s recent purple patch.

Max, a son of prominent trainer David and Kate Wachman, partnered Slipper in the Tiny Tots Race (for children aged three to seven) and forced a dead-heat in the 200 yards contest.

The race was a ‘lead-up’ contest with Seamus Cronin (an apprentice jockey with Wachman) leading-in the dead-heater alongside pony Jack, led-in by fellow Flat jockey Bill Lee. Lee’s own introduction to the saddle has become a Youtube classic, finishing second in the infamous and hilarious Castletown Derby of 1994, which currently has 420,000 hits.
