Answering gained a deserved win with a fine front-running performance in the Adare Manor Opportunity Maiden Hurdle at Thurles.

Tim Doyle 's charge was soon in front under Cian Quirke and it prove straight-forward for the 11/10 favourite.

He was asked for an effort running down to the last in the race, run over just shy of two miles, and a good jump at the last propelled him to a four-length win over Toor Khov

The winner had been runner-up on his last couple of outings.

Doyle said:- “Cian only lives 200 yards down the road and that’s his first winner at Thurles.

“He was off for six months after breaking his leg in Listowel and I think he’s only back a few weeks so it’s great to get him a winner.

“It was an ideal opportunity after his last two runs. I know he’s a nine-year-old but he’s improving all the time and is only coming to himself this year.

“We’ll probably find a handicap for him down the line and maybe a bit further would suit.

“He goes on all ground and seems to handle that well. All options are open for him.

“This race was for trainers who hadn’t 20 winners over jumps last year and it’s great to be able to get a race like that.”
