Anthem has Lowther option Eddie Lynam could send his Royal Ascot winner Anthem Alexander into action in the Pinsent Masons Lowther Stakes at York on Thursday. She is among 15 fillies to stand their ground at the confirmation stage for the Group Two contest, though she currently also holds an entry in the Nunthorpe Stakes on the Knavesmire on Friday. The David Evans-trained Patience Alexander is also in those two races and both are owned by Noel O'Callaghan. Anthem Alexander, who was a late withdrawal from the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh last weekend because of the ground, could renew rivalry with Tiggy Wiggy, whom she beat by a neck in the Queen Mary Stakes at the Royal meeting. Richard Hannon's filly has since trotted up by six lengths in the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury. The handler also has Osaila, winner of the Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot last month. The runner-up that day, the James Given-trained Pastoral Girl, could take her on again. Aidan O'Brien has two possibles in I Am Beautiful and Qualify, while the Roger Varian-trained Cursory Glance, unbeaten winner of the Albany Stakes, is also in the field.
