Apparition faces five at Roscommon Joseph O'Brien's Apparition leads the way in the Peggy Guerin Memorial Handicap, one of the feature events at Roscommon on Monday. The Dream Ahead colt has won two of his last three starts, triumphing at Killarney and the Curragh, and must now shoulder top weight in the hands of Donnacha O'Brien in this 10-furlong contest. He is not the only runner boasting recent winning form though, with Jim Bolger's Pannstarr hitting the target last time out while Jessica Harrington's Hyperdrive and the Michael O'Callaghan-trained Perfect Soldier also returned to the winner's enclosure this term. The Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Race boasts a decent prize and Andrew Slattery's Spiorad Saoirse will be many people's idea of a winner having triumphed at the Galway Festival on his most recent outing. Slattery also runs newcomer Sea The Spray with Bolger fielding Vocal Music and Harrington sending Still Standing. Kevin Prendergast's Himmah has hit the bar on the last three occasions and must be one for the shortlist in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden while Mabaady lines up for the same yard in the Murray Ambulance Maiden. Adrian McGuinness' stable stalwart Bubbly Bellini carries top weight in the Eurona BriskNet Handicap but Alans Pride looks a tough rival in that event having finished in the first two on his last five outings. Newcross, a half-brother to Group One hero Fascinating Rock, represents Dermot Weld in the Abbey Hotel Roscommon Maiden while stablemate Ace Of Diamonds will face Denis Hogan's popular veteran Inis Meain among 10 rivals in the Pyramid Bookmakers Handicap. The closing Sean Cleary Memorial Handicap sees another well-know runner in Dara Tango, who will be aiming to supplement his recent Galway success.
