Araucaria makes impression in last

Araucaria looked a nice prospect when making a winning debut in the concluding mares bumper at Punchestown.

David Kiely 's mount came with a late burst in the final furlong to record a cosy four-and-a-half length victory over Minnie Wyse

"She's from a very very old family bred by the Parkhill family," said trainer John Kiely (no relation).

"She was bought for the owner Mr Pollmeier to replace Black Queen. Hopefully she'll be a nice mare."
