Arc Hero Still On Easy List

Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Rail Link is back in the care of Andre Fabre but no date has been put on his return to the racetrack.

The Khalid Abdullah-owned four-year-old suffered a slight setback after his finest hour in October at Longchamp, although there has been no question of retiring the son of Dansili.

And Teddy Grimthorpe, Abdullah's racing manager, hopes a bid for a second crack at the Arc will still be on his agenda.

'He had a little setback at the turn of the year and he is coming along slowly, there is nothing to report really,' said Grimthorpe.

'I think Andre Fabre is happy enough with him, but he hasn't really done anything of any note yet.

'He had a chip removed from his joint and he travelled to Newmarket to have it operated on. We have no real timescale for his comeback, though.

'I think with things like this you just have to wait and see and the horse will tell us when he is ready to return and start moving on. It will be the second half of the season before he is back.

'You can attempt to put lots of dates on his comeback, but at this stage we are just hoping to have him back for the top mile-and-a-half races in the second half of the season and the Arc is not a bad target for later on!

'His progress last year was fantastic and we hope to have a few more good days with him yet.'
