Ardeen Joy eases to comprehensive success The Gordon Elliott-trained Ardeen Joy (5/1) recorded a comprehensive victory in Bellewstown, easing to a six-length success under Jack Kennedy to give trainer Gordon Elliott a double on the day. The five-year-old daughter of Walk In The Park jumped fluently throughout and, when given the go-ahead to extend, duly obliged, easing down to a commanding 14-length success. Speaking after the race, assistant trainer Lisa O'Neill said: "She did (travel well), she deserved that. She has her own quirks - she can be a bit hard on herself, but Jack seemed to get her switched off relatively well today. "I think this track probably played to her strengths. They went a good gallop on good ground, and she was able to preserve a bit more energy. "She was fine (jumping), she has got experience and I think that helped today. She won with plenty in hand." When asked if she could be one for Galway, she replied: "Yes, hopefully so. I'm sure Gordon will pick out something for her there, obviously depending on what the handicapper does with her. "They are a great bunch of owners and hopefully they will have good fun with her going forward." Quotes from Michael Graham
