Paddy Twomey continued a red-hot run of form as Arouet provided the Tipperary trainer with a first winner over jumps in the Tote Guarantee, Never Beaten By SP Maiden Hurdle at Cork.

Twomey was making it an amazing seven winners from his last eight runners as Arouet, available at 4/1 overnight and supported on track from 10/11 into 4/6, landed the odds in the hands of Daniel King.

The Galiway gelding challenged the front-running Karlynn after two out but after a slight mistake at the last, just got the better of that rival in the closing stages to score by two and a quarter lengths. Sestini made a promising Irish debut finishing just a length further back in third.

Twomey was represented by Connor King who said, “He did it very well, improved from his experience the last day and it was a good performance.

“Dan was delighted with him, he jumped and travelled well and said if he hadn't gotten so close to the last, he felt he would have won easier.

"Paddy was keen to go jumping with this horse during the winter and while he wasn't over-schooled, the experience should bring him on. I'd say running both over hurdles and on the Flat is the plan for the summer.”
