Four times a runner-up in six previous starts, the Joseph O'Brien-trained Arrietty enjoyed a winning turn in the Try Racing TV For Free Now At racingtv.com/freetrial Fillies Maiden at the Curragh.

Sent off the 15/8 favourite, the Dylan Browne McMonagle-ridden three-year-old hit the front before the two-pole and asserted inside the final furlong to win by three and a quarter lengths from her own stable companion, the 3/1 shot Pleased

The newcomers Porters Corner (9/2) and Kashala (11/1) took third and fourth place respectively for trainers Paddy Twomey and Dermot Weld.

“She’s been very consistent and has been progressing from run to run,” said O’Brien.

“We felt as though she’d like going a mile-and-a-half today and we’re delighted to get her maiden won.

“We’ll see where she goes from here. She could step into a nice fillies’ handicap or something like that.”

On the runner-up, O’Brien added, “She’s improving away. She’s a big filly that’ll probably stay further and improve from now until the autumn.”
