Ascot next up for Gordon Lord Byron Gordon Lord Byron will head for the Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot on Saturday week after another fine effort at Longchamp on Sunday. Tom Hogan's stable star finished runner-up for a second consecutive season in the Prix de la Foret, a race he also won in 2012 but was on this occasion two lengths in arrears of Olympic Glory. Gordon Lord Byron ran in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes over a mile on Champions Day last year, but this time the six-year-old will tackle six furlongs. "He's 100 per cent and likely to go to Ascot for the Champions Sprint," said Hogan. "He's so versatile and runs his race over six (furlongs), seven or a mile. "He's at Lingfield (on Monday morning) and I've been told he's had a roll and eaten up so he's likely to be at Ascot. "After that we'll just take each day as it comes and see where we go, he'll probably go travelling again. "I know it looked like Olympic Glory flew home but I think it was also a case of those in front going off very fast and they were stopping. "Wayne (Lordan, jockey) thought he'd done everything right, but there you go."
