Following an excellent run when second in the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes , the Johnny Murtagh trained Zahrann looks set to stay on home soil for his next start.

A lightly raced Night Of Thunder colt, the three-year-old had won his last two starts, prior to reaching the frame at the royal meeting in June.

Murtagh said: “He’s going to run in the Royal Whip (at the Curragh on August 16).

“He came out of his race well, we brought him along slowly and we want to see can he do it at a mile and a quarter or does he need a mile and a half.

“I think the Royal Whip will tell us exactly where we are going to go for the rest of the year.”
