Ascot target for Tillerman

Tillerman is on course to return to action at Royal Ascot, it emerged today.

Amanda Perrett`s fast ground performer, who missed an intended engagement at York earlier this month because of unsuitable going, is entered in the Queen Anne Stakes on June 19th and the Cork And Orrery Stakes two days later at the Royal meeting.

'Tillerman is fine,' Mrs Perrett said. 'He`s getting his ground now.

'He has two options at Royal Ascot and I`ll discuss it with the owner (Khalid Abdullah) and Teddy Beckett (racing manager) before anything is decided.'

Tillerman won the Tote International Handicap at Ascot last season and the Pulborough trainer added: 'He has always shown his best form at Ascot.'

Mrs Perrett is also considering running Solo Mio at Royal Ascot.

A useful hurdler this winter for Alan King, Solo Mio followed up his Sagaro Stakes success in the Bonusprint Stakes at Sandown on Monday to take his tally to two out of two for the yard.

'I don`t think there`s been any key really,' Mrs Perrett said. 'He came here in great form from Alan King. He just seems to run incredibly well in May. I just hope he can transfer it to the rest of the season.

'He might run in the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Ascot or we might give him a bit of a break and bring him back for the Goodwood Cup.'
