Autumn chasing on agenda for Call It Magic Connections of wide margin point-to-point and bumper winner Call It Magic will be hoping the gelding makes it third time lucky over hurdles in the coming weeks, with a chasing career the intended target next season. Trainer Ross O'Sullivan stated “Ruby (Walsh) rode him the last day at Leopardstown and said the ground was too soft for him; he won his point-to-point (by 24 lengths) on nice ground and his bumper (by seven and a half lengths) on good ground so he might have been struggling on heavy. “He's 100% though and I'm going to wait until February for a maiden hurdle next and hopefully it will dry up a bit by then. I'd like to win a maiden hurdle with him and then run him in the valuable novice handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse in Easter. It won't bother me if he loses his novice status late in the season as he'll be going chasing next season and while everyone says it, he won't be a horse until he runs over fences.” O'Sullivan, who worked for Jessica Harrington as an amateur jockey before going training, added “I've also Call It Magic's half sister by Marienbad to run in a point-to-point shortly and she's coming along nicely.” He added “we're busy with young horses at present and while I haven't had many runners recently, have plenty four year olds ready for a run shortly. I also have Tetraites back cantering and he might have one run before the Punchestown Festival. He'll mix between hurdling and flat for the summer and I'd be hoping he can win from his flat mark of 70.” By Tom Weekes
