BRITISH RAIDERS HEAD STATESIDE

British raiders are out to plunder the top prizes at Arlington Park in America this weekend.

Godolphin`s Slickly and the Philip Mitchell-trained Running Stag - a regular and successful visitor to the United States - are on course for the Arlington Million and they will be joined in Chicago by compatriots Compton Bolter and Diamond White.

Sagitta 2000 Guineas fifth Compton Bolter left Gerard Butler`s stable this morning and is due to run in the US400,000 Secretariat. Riding plans have yet to be finalised for Gerard Butler`s colt.

However, Frankie Dettori - who will also ride Slickly in the feature race - has been booked to ride Diamond White for Newmarket trainer Mick Ryan in the Beverly D on the same card.

'She`s in good form and she might as well run in Chicago - there`s a lot of money at stake,' Ryan said today. 'She`s a back-end filly and she`s just coming right.

'Frankie Dettori will ride.

'The going on the turf course should be good which would suit her.'

Depending on her performance at Arlington, Diamond White could be campaigned in the United States in the future.

'If she operates in America then there are plenty of races for fillies and mares for her over there,' Ryan added.

'She`ll come back here after the race and then we`ll take it from there because the original plan was to go back to Longchamp (Diamond White won last year`s Prix l`Opera).

'But if she acts in America then that opens a lot of new doors for her.'

Also running in the Beverly D will be the Criquette Head-trained filly America.
