Baaeed sires his first winner in Ireland First-season sire and ex-champion miler Baaeed sired his second winner today, as Qatar Racing’s Curracloe caused a 22/1 upset to score on debut in Gowran’s opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden. Ridden by Ben Coen, Curracloe was disadvantaged by her wide draw in 14 and initially raced in mid-division, but quickened to lead a furlong out, scoring readily by 3.25 lengths from Snowing . Coaxed had been Baaeed’s first winner at stud at Kempton Park on August 12, and today Curracloe’s trainer Johnny Murtagh reported “I love the stallion, I have a couple of them there but the temperaments are really, really good." “Curracloe is a very nice filly and we have a few nice fillies coming along. She has a great temperament and had been working well at home. I thought she'd need the run today, but Ben said she was very natural, jumped well, took a good position and quickened up really well. She likes that ground. I'd say she's well above average to win first time out for one of ours. "We'll see how she is. We always thought of her as being a nice two-year-old at the back-end/three-year-old, so we'll speak to Sheikh Fahad (Qatar Racing) and the team and see what they want to do.
