Back-to-back Ballinrobe wins for Shaboozee Having recorded a first career win at the same track last time, the Joseph O'Brien trained Shaboozee made it back-to-back victories at Ballinrobe when easily landing the Hollymount Nursing Home Handicap Hurdle. Chasing leader Mick Collins to two out, the Richie Deegan partnered gelding took over at that penultimate flight. Briefly challenged by Maxios Prime on the approach to the last, the 15/8jf soon kicked clear to score eased down by 14 lengths. “I was delighted (to get the ride). It was only the other day that I saw JJ (Slevin) was going to England so I was hoping,” said Deegan. “The penny has taken a while to drop and he’s come on from his last run again. He won well today and hopefully he can step up again. “I jumped out smart and we went a good gallop. I was actually flat out for the first mile and then when horses started stopping he started getting going. “He’s a horse that could probably step up in trip too. Hopefully he’ll keep coming along. “I’d suppose Listowel will be next.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson.
