Espom fifth place finisher Golden Sword is another of Aidan O'Brien's seven strong challenge in his bid to land the spoils for the fourth consecutive year. Gan Amhras, who failed to handle the track at Epsom, once again represents the Jim Bolger team. Significant rain in the early hours of Friday morning (12mm) has changed the going at The Curragh. The official description is now good ground on the round course (Derby) and good to yielding on the straight course. There is a threat of further rain during Friday, but both Saturday and Sunday are expected to be dry and warm. John Oxx has already expressed concerns about the going for the favourite Sea The Stars and will now wait as late as possible before confirming him as a definite runner.
