Ballinrobe next for consistent Tea Trainer Edmond Kent was thrilled to see his star mare Thanks For Tea get back on the winning trail in the three-mile handicap hurdle at Bellewstown on Thursday evening. The daughter of Shantou won twice over hurdles in the summer of 2015 and claimed her only victory over fences to date at Limerick in July of last year. She has also finished second no less than seven times and third on five occasions. Ridden by Paul Townend, she was a 14-1 shot to snap a 13-race losing run and did so by a neck in determined style. Kent said: "It was a brilliant ride from Paul and she's a real tough mare. "She needs nice ground, but every day she comes out she will put up a good performance. Paul said they were going flat out and he sat and waited. He knew she would come for him. "Ground depending, there is a race for her in Ballinrobe - a valuable mares' handicap hurdle that I won with Kris Kindle before. She has to be under 123 and she is 118 now and he (handicapper) might give her a pound or two for that. "She is very versatile and easy to train. I contemplated putting her in-foal but I thought she might earn more at this."
