Ballybrit pots firmly on Elliott's radar Gordon Elliott has his eye on the two feature races at the seven-day Galway Festival with the Co Meath handler keen to have runners in both the Tote.com Galway Plate and the Guinness Galway Handicap Hurdle. Bless the Wings, a horse he bought out of Alan King's Barbury Castle stable, and Plan A are among his possibles for the Plate, while Bayan and Cape Glory could figure in the Galway Hurdle "You have to stay in the Galway Hurdle. It's two miles there, but they go very fast and finish up a hill, so you actually need a horse that can travel early in the race but has to stay as well," Elliott said. "I think that will suit Bayan because he stays well. "Cape Glory makes himself look worse than he is in a race. I think a set of blinkers off a fast gallop (will help) and if he didn't get hustled out of it early he could be a horse that could run well. "Plan A finished second up the north (at Down Royal) last year and got an injury a week or two later. We gave him time and did the right thing by him. He's working well and is in good form, so we're happy. "Bless The Wings is a horse I like. I bought him out of Alan King's. He could be a bit of a dark horse. "We bought him for the Plate. We thought he had a rating that could get him into the race. "Whatever he does in the Plate, he's going to be a good fun horse and the owner will have a lot of craic with him."
