Ballychorus delivered in the mares' beginners' chase at Down Royal for Mags and Danny Mullins.

The six-year-old daughter of King's Theatre made all but wasn't fluent at the last two fences. Despite this, she saw out the two and a half mile trip well for a six length victory.

The 5/2 shot beat Tiger Bay Lady into second. She was popular in the market from 9/1 in the morning to an opening show of 5/1 and an SP of 4/1. Melbourne Lady the 9/4 favourite, came home third another 15 lengths away. She raced in second but dropped to third and was ridden at the third last. She kept on at the same pace.

Danny Mullins said: "It was easy enough. She let fly at one or two but she'll be a nice summer novice."
