Ballycorus now for Cappella Ger Lyons is eyeing Ballycorus Stakes compensation for Cappella Sansevero following his luckless run in Monday's German 2000 Guineas. The three-year-old mixed it at the very highest level as a juvenile last season, but suffered interference when finishing down the field in the Guineas at Newmarket and failed to get the gaps when he needed them in Cologne. Lyons is hoping his luck will change at Leopardstown on June 18. "He came home grand. It was a non-event and it was a long way to go to do that. He got wiped out at the start," said the trainer. "The track over there is similar to Roscommon but with two bigger bends and it's a front-runner's track. "He was third-last coming out of the chute and he sat there taking his medicine. In hindsight he should have gone out and used him to get a pozzy (position). When the gap did come he got murdered. "That's two wipeouts now in two Guineas' so my plan is to drop back to the Ballycorus and try to get a win into him. "Hopefully he can win the Ballycorus and then maybe look at the Group Two Park Stakes at Doncaster." Lyons also had news of Endless Drama, who ran a fantastic race to fill the runner-up spot behind red-hot favourite Gleneagles in last weekend's Irish 2,000 Guineas. "Endless Drama was very tired after his run and gave his all," said Lyons. "He's in all those proper races and the St James' Palace (at Royal Ascot) is the obvious target, but if I'm not happy with him he won't go anywhere and he won't run on fast ground."
