Ballydoyle duo on Vase duty Carlo Bugatti and Orchestra are the two chosen ones from the Ballydoyle stable in the MBNA Chester Vase on Thursday. Aidan O'Brien has declared blinkers for Carlo Bugatti, the mount of Joseph O'Brien and fourth to the promising Fascinating Rock in the Ballysax Stakes on his return. Ryan Moore will ride Orchestra, second to Free Eagle on his debut and an easy maiden winner next time out. Mark Johnston runs Stars Over The Sea, a close third in the Classic Trial at Epsom. Seagull Star, Romsdal and Scotland add further spice, while Automated, Belfilo and Festival Theatre make up the nine-runner field for the Derby trial over a mile and a half. Telescope will aim to return to winning ways in the Betfair Price Rush Huxley Stakes on the same card after Sir Michael Stoute's much-vaunted colt was beaten on his seasonal comeback in the Gordon Richards Stakes on very soft ground at Sandown. He by no means faces an easy task as the winner of that race, Lady Cecil's Noble Mission, will once again take him on, although his task is made slightly harder by carrying a 3lb penalty. Also set to take his chance is Roger Varian's Ektihaam, not seen since running in the King George at Ascot last summer. Luca Cumani's Danadana and the Andrew Balding-trained Highland Knight fought out the finish 12 months ago, with the former prevailing by three-quarters of a length, and they are again in the line-up. Aidan O'Brien brings over Afonso De Sousa, unplaced in the Irish Lincolnshire on his return, while Richard Fahey runs Gabrial's Kaka, who steps back up in trip. The field is completed by Marco Botti's former Brazilian-trained Edu Querido, not disgraced in the Jebel Hatta at Meydan when last seen.
