Irish Thoroughbred Marketing (ITM) is planning to resume barrier trials at Naas Racecourse on a non-Flat raceday, Wednesday June 5th.

The trials, taking place under the supervision of the IHRB, will be restricted to unraced two-year-olds over five furlongs and six furlongs. Unraced three-year-olds will also be catered for up to seven furlongs.

It is proposed the trials take place 'on the round' inside the Flat track proper at Naas and the ground will be maintained as 'good' in the event of dry weather.

ITM's International Representative, Jeremy Greene, commented: "The principal reason for staging barrier trials is to meet the significant overseas demand for quality unraced horses. Up to two more similar dates are planned up until September."

The entry fee will be E150 on top of a mandatory provision of E60 for licensed jockeys. Horses being entered must be returned in training with licensed trainers, named and with a stalls certificate.
